Deen

To share content about the deen with others – and, hopefully, to also share the love of deen with others through it. May Allah have mercy on our deceased and preserve our living. ʾÃmīn. The content has been collected from different sources (webpages, books, etc.). I plead fair usage in any case.

From the Salaf

Abu Muslim al-Khawlani reported: A man came to him and he said, “Instruct me, O Abu Muslim.” Abu Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Remember Allah under every tree and hillside.” The man said, “Tell me more.” Abu Muslim said, “Remember Allah until people think you have gone mad with the remembrance of Allah.” Abu Muslim used to frequently mention Allah. A man saw him mentioning Allah and he said, “Has this companion of yours gone mad?” Abu Muslim heard him and he said, “This is not madness, O son of my brother, rather this is the cure for madness.”

Yahya related to me from Malik that he heard that Luqman al-Hakim made his will and counselled his son, saying, “My son! Sit with the learned men and keep close to them. Allah gives life to the hearts with the light of wisdom as Allah gives life to the dead earth with the abundant rain of the sky.”

Current

Surround yourself with people who keep you in check, call you out when you go astray, and care about your Afterlife more than your feelings. These are the real friends.
